Login to your Wavlink router

Opens your router's admin login page. Works only on your own network.

To log in to a Wavlink router, you go to 192.168.10.1 in a browser and enter admin as the password. Wavlink is password-only on most models, so there is often no username to type. There is also a detail worth knowing: routers and extenders use different web addresses, which is a common reason the page will not load. This guide covers the login, both hostnames, and how to change your Wi-Fi.

  1. Connect your computer to the router, over Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable into a LAN port. The default Wi-Fi network name and password are printed on the label, usually on the back of the router.
  2. Open a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Make sure it has no stale cache, or use a private window.
  3. Click the address bar at the top of the browser and type http://192.168.10.1, then press Enter. You can also use the hostname http://wavlogin.link.
  4. Enter the login password and click Login.

Wavlink router192.168.10.1 or wavlogin.link(often blank)admin
Wavlink extender192.168.10.1 or waplogin.link(often blank)admin

The default login password is admin, all lowercase. Most Wavlink models are password-only, so you can leave the username field blank if one appears. On some models the username is also admin.

Note that this is the password for the management page, which is separate from your Wi-Fi password. The default Wi-Fi network name and key are printed on the router’s label.

Routers and Extenders Use Different Addresses

This catches people out, so it is worth being clear. Both Wavlink routers and extenders use the IP address 192.168.10.1, but their hostnames differ by a single letter:

Some older documentation and third-party sites also list wifi.wavlink.com. If one address does not load, try the IP address 192.168.10.1 directly, which works for both device types. If you are setting up a range extender, our guide on what a Wi-Fi extender is explains how it fits into your network.

Changing the Wi-Fi key is the most common reason people log in.

  1. Log in at 192.168.10.1.
  2. From the home page, click Wireless. On some models the path is Home, then Wireless, then Security.
  3. Enter your new network name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) field.
  4. Choose the encryption type. Wavlink recommends WPA3 or WPA2.
  5. Enter your new password in the WPA Password field.
  6. Save or apply the change.

One tip from Wavlink’s own guidance: if you are making this change over Wi-Fi rather than a cable, you will be disconnected the moment the settings take effect, so note the new SSID and password before you save. Our full guide on how to change your Wi-Fi password walks through it for any router.

If your router is dual-band, you may see an option to combine the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands under one name for automatic switching. Turn that off if you want to configure the two bands separately.

What to Do If You Cannot Log In

The page will not load. Confirm you are connected to the Wavlink device and using the right address.

  • Try both 192.168.10.1 and the hostname for your device type, wavlogin.link for a router or waplogin.link for an extender.
  • Confirm your gateway. On Windows, press Windows + R, type cmd, run ipconfig, and read the “Default Gateway” line. You can also run ping 192.168.10.1 to check the device responds, or find your gateway’s IP on any device.

Your computer has a fixed IP address. Wavlink’s guidance is to set your computer to obtain an IP address and DNS server automatically, so it can get an address in the router’s range.

A cached page is blocking you. Clear your browser cache and cookies, or open a private window. Try a different browser if the problem persists.

The password is rejected. Try admin in lowercase with the username field left blank. If it still fails, the password was changed and you will need to reset the device.

You are not on the device’s network. Mobile data, a VPN, or another Wi-Fi network will all stop 192.168.10.1 from loading.

Wavlink has no password recovery, so if you set your own password and forgot it, a hard reset is the only way to return the login to the default admin. A reset erases all your settings.

  1. With the device powered on, find the reset button on the back, a small recessed hole on most models.
  2. Use a toothpick, paperclip, or SIM ejector tool to press and hold it for about 8 to 10 seconds, until the lights blink.
  3. Release and wait a minute or two for the device to restart.
  4. Log in at 192.168.10.1 with the password admin, then set up the router again.

Conclusion

Logging in to a Wavlink router is simple once you know the address: go to 192.168.10.1 or wavlogin.link and enter the password admin, leaving the username blank. If you have an extender rather than a router, the hostname is waplogin.link, one letter different, which is the detail that most often sends people in circles. Since Wavlink offers no password recovery, record any password you set, because a reset is the only way back and it wipes everything.

Frequently asked questions

What is the default password for a Wavlink router?

The default login password is admin, all lowercase. Most Wavlink models are password-only, so if a username field appears you can usually leave it blank, though some models use admin there too. This is separate from your Wi-Fi password, which is printed on the router's label.

What is wavlogin.link?

It is the hostname Wavlink uses for router logins, an alternative to typing the IP address. Enter http://wavlogin.link while connected to your Wavlink router. Extenders use a slightly different address, http://waplogin.link, and the IP 192.168.10.1 works for both.

What is the difference between wavlogin.link and waplogin.link?

One letter, and the device type. Routers use wavlogin.link, while Wi-Fi range extenders use waplogin.link. If one does not load, use the IP address 192.168.10.1 directly, which reaches both.

192.168.10.1 will not load. What should I try?

Make sure you are connected to the Wavlink device, set your computer to obtain an IP address automatically, and clear your browser cache. Confirm your gateway with ipconfig on Windows, and try the hostname for your device type.

I forgot my Wavlink password. Can I recover it?

No. Wavlink has no password recovery, so you need to hard reset the device by holding the reset button for about 8 to 10 seconds. That returns the login password to the default admin, but it also erases all your settings.

How do I change my Wavlink Wi-Fi password?

Log in at 192.168.10.1, click Wireless, enter your new SSID, choose WPA3 or WPA2 encryption, and enter your new password in the WPA Password field. Note the new details first if you are connected over Wi-Fi, since you will be disconnected when the change applies.
