Login to your Nokia router

Opens your router's admin login page. Works only on your own network.

Nokia home devices are not all the same, so the login process depends on which one you have. A Nokia fiber ONT, which is usually installed by your internet provider, typically opens at 192.168.1.254 or sometimes 192.168.18.1, while a Nokia Beacon mesh system is usually accessed through 192.168.18.1 or webgui.nokiawifi.com. The confusing part is that both devices can look similar on the outside but use completely different login pages and settings. This guide helps you figure out which Nokia device you are using, find the correct login password, and easily change your Wi-Fi settings without getting stuck.

First, Identify Your Nokia Device

The login details depend on the device type, so start here.

  • Nokia fiber ONT (models like the G-240W-E, G-240W-F, G-140W-C, and E-140W-P): these are GPON gateways supplied by an internet provider. In South Asia they are common with WorldLink, Vianet, and Subisu. They open at 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.18.1, depending on the model.
  • Nokia Beacon mesh (Beacon 1, Beacon 3): consumer mesh Wi-Fi units you buy yourself. They open at 192.168.18.1 or the hostname webgui.nokiawifi.com.

If you are not sure, the label on the bottom of the device usually shows both the address and the login.

How to Log In to a Nokia Device

  1. Connect your phone or computer to the Nokia device, over Wi-Fi or with an Ethernet cable. You must be on its own network.
  2. Open a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
  3. Click the address bar at the top of the browser. Do not use the search box.
  4. Type the address for your device. For a fiber ONT, try 192.168.1.254, then 192.168.18.1. For a Beacon, try webgui.nokiawifi.com or 192.168.18.1. Some providers require the HTTPS version, so try https://192.168.18.1 if the plain address fails.
  5. Enter the username and password. See the table below.
  6. Click Login or Sign in to reach the web GUI.

Default Username and Password for Nokia Routers

Fiber ONT (G-240W-E)192.168.1.254adminadmin or the label password
Fiber ONT (G-240W-F)192.168.18.1adminadmin or the label password

If admin/admin does not work on a fiber ONT, your ISP set a custom password, which is printed on a sticker on the bottom of the device. Check there. For Nokia Beacon units, the password is the one printed on the root device, and Nokia’s own help notes that the older method of signing in with a registered email address no longer works. Use the device password instead.

How to Change Your Nokia Wi-Fi Password

Changing the Wi-Fi key is the most common reason people log in.

  1. Log in to the Nokia web GUI.
  2. Select Network in the menu, then Wireless (2.4GHz).
  3. Enter your new network name in the SSID field and your new password in the Wi-Fi password field.
  4. Save the change.
  5. If you have a dual-band router, repeat the steps for Wireless (5GHz), since the two bands are configured separately.

After saving, every device drops off the Wi-Fi and reconnects with the new key. Use a password of at least 12 characters with no personal details.

What to Do If You Cannot Log In

The page will not load. Confirm the address and that you are connected to the Nokia device.

  • On Windows: press Windows + R, type cmd, and run ipconfig. Read the “Default Gateway” line. You can also run ping 192.168.18.1 to check the device responds.
  • On a phone: open your Wi-Fi network details and look for the gateway or router field.
  • For a fiber ONT, try 192.168.1.254 and 192.168.18.1. For a Beacon, try webgui.nokiawifi.com and the HTTPS version.

You need to connect a Beacon directly

If you are plugging a computer straight into a Beacon’s LAN port, Nokia’s guidance is to set the computer’s IP manually to 192.168.18.100 with subnet 255.255.255.0, then load 192.168.18.1.

admin/admin is rejected on an ONT

Your ISP changed it. Check the label, and if it still fails, contact your provider, since some keep the full admin account private.

You got search results

The address went into a search engine, not the address bar. Click the bar at the very top of the window, clear it, type the address, and press Enter.

How to Reset a Nokia Router to Factory Settings

A factory reset erases everything: the Wi-Fi name and password, any custom configuration, and the admin password. The device returns to how it shipped, so reset only when you are locked out and have no other way in.

  1. Find the RESET button, a small recessed pinhole on the back or bottom of the device.
  2. With the device powered on, use a pin or toothpick to press and hold it for about 15 to 20 seconds, until the lights blink.
  3. Release and wait a minute or two for the device to restart.
  4. Log in with the factory defaults, or the label password.

A warning for fiber customers: resetting a Nokia ONT clears the connection settings that link it to your provider’s network, and your internet will go down until it re-syncs. If it does not come back, contact your ISP to re-provision the device rather than trying to restore it yourself.

Conclusion

Logging into a Nokia device depends mainly on what type of equipment you are using. A fiber ONT provided by your internet company usually opens at 192.168.1.254 or sometimes 192.168.18.1, while a Nokia Beacon mesh system is accessed through webgui.nokiawifi.com. On an ONT, you can often log in using admin/admin or the password printed on the device label, whereas on a Beacon system you typically sign in with admin and the password from the main root device, since the older email-based login method is no longer used. It is also important to be careful with ISP-provided ONTs, because resetting them can erase the internet configuration set by your provider and may require them to restore your service.

Frequently asked questions

What is the default username and password for a Nokia router?

For most Nokia fiber ONTs it is admin/admin, though ISPs often set a custom password printed on the device label. Nokia Beacon mesh units use the username admin with the password printed on the root device.

What is webgui.nokiawifi.com?

It is the hostname for logging into Nokia Beacon mesh systems, an alternative to typing the IP. Go to www.webgui.nokiawifi.com or 192.168.18.1 while connected to the Beacon. Some providers require the HTTPS version.

My Nokia Beacon will not accept my email login. Why?

Nokia discontinued the email sign-in method for Beacon 1 and Beacon 3. You now log in with the username admin and the password printed on the root device instead.

192.168.1.254 will not load on my Nokia ONT. What should I try?

Try 192.168.18.1, since the address varies by model. Confirm you are connected to the Nokia device and check your real gateway with ipconfig on Windows. Some ISPs require https:// in front of the address.

Can I log in to my Nokia router from my phone?

Yes. Connect to the Nokia Wi-Fi, open a browser, and type the address for your device. The web GUI works the same on mobile as on a computer.

Should I reset my ISP-supplied Nokia ONT if I am locked out?

Only as a last resort. A reset clears your provider's connection settings and can leave you without internet access until they re-provision the device. Try the label password first, and contact your ISP if it fails.
